BS Event: Brooklyn Cyclones

Brooklyn Cyclones Fog

After learning during our last company event that there are different types of chocolate, not just Hershey's, watching and understanding a baseball game not involving the Yankees, Mets or Red Sox was fairly easy: there are different types of baseball leagues as well, and the Brooklyn Cyclones are top in the New York Penn League. As fans of good baseball broadcasting, the Boyle Software team & friends decided to take a trip to Coney Island and watch a Minor League Baseball game on a mid-summer Friday night.

Brooklyn Cyclones Fog

The game against Auburn's Doubledays looked like a holiday for the Cyclones: the Doubledays had lost 6 out of 7 games prior to their stint at Keyspan Park. Brooke felt sorry for the Doubledays even before the game had started. But the men from Auburn played a fine game and the Cyclones needed the help of the Aurae, the nymphs of the moist breezes, who rushed in during the 5th inning. The Cyclones were 1:0 ahead at that time but the Doubledays seemed to gain confidence after realizing the cute Beach Bums were watching. Too late! The aurae outperformed the beach bums and the umpire finally ended the game after the fog got denser and fans complained that it was getting increasingly difficult to spot the cotton candy vendor.

Baseball, hot dogs, FDNY and Greek mythology - that's Minor League Baseball, that's the Brooklyn Cyclones. We are looking forward to our next visit at Keyspan Park, especially now that the Beach Bums have gotten serious competition. More fog, please.
