The New York Observer launches new website

Observer

After months of thorough planning, coding and testing, the new website of The New York Observer launched on February 25th, featuring a complete overhaul of the way news articles are presented to the reader. Top stories are now shown in a clickable photo collage by default, but readers can switch to viewing the content as a list. At the same time, the new design was conceived giving The Observer's editors a maximum of flexibility to modify site modules in order to fit the editorial content.

This and many more new features were accomplished using strict XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX. The Boyle Software frontend team assisted Observer Web developer Theresa Summa in coding the frontend part, making the new complex site work cross-browser and cross-platform.
