New VP of Operations: Matt Davis

24 Jan, 2011

As of January 24, 2011, Matthew Davis has joined Boyle Software as VP of Operations. Matt brings aboard fifteen years in new media development and an evangelical passion for building clear, usable interactive experiences – no matter the product, no matter the audience. “I am thrilled to join up with Dan and his team at Boyle Software,” said Matt, “Boyle is leading the way in the development of open source technologies for his clients. It’s great to be a part of a team with both inspired vision as well as the ability and dedication to execute on that vision.”

For the past five years, Matt has run his own consulting business, primarily providing information and interaction design for a variety of diverse companies, large and small. He has provided information and graphical-design for websites in fields ranging from healthcare to e-commerce to higher education; but much of his past decade has been devoted to online products in K-12 education. Prior to branching out on his own, Matt served as AVP of Electronic Product Development with the K-12 Services division of The Princeton Review. During the heady days of the late 1990s, Matt served as Production Manager for the “Books” area of barnesandnoble.com and also as Director (and later VP) of Product Development for online VHS/DVD vendor bigstar.com.

Matt received his MPS from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU and his BA from Amherst College.

Matt lives proudly in the great state of New Jersey and “will not brook your bridge-and-tunnel jokes without pushback.” He and his wife Dana have three tremendous kids who “stun him with joy daily.” Though, of course, “they have their moments of actually being kids too.” After ignoring his muse for almost twenty years, Matt is once more writing and singing songs and making a serious racket with a new band called The Thousand Pities.
